15% Democrats Unemployed, Voters Want Taxes, Spending Cut for Jobs

Unemployment-LR2_preview

by the Left Coast Rebel

Now listen to this, from Rasmussen this morning :

Data from Rasmussen Reports national telephone surveys shows that 15.0% of
Democrats in the workforce are currently unemployed and looking for a job. Among
adults not affiliated with either major party, that number is 15.6% while just
9.9% of Republicans are in the same situation.

Why the disparity, why the large gap between Dems and GOPers in the unemployment realm? If this data is correct, Democrats are experiencing unemployment at a > 50% clip vs. Republicans. Any theories on this readers? Work ethic? Entrepeneurship? Both? Which side? Why?

Moving along, another interesting Ramussen poll out today that defies everything that the Obamanation, Democrat leadership and state governments,( like mine here in CA), are doing. Headline - To Create Jobs, Voters Say Cut Taxes and Stop Spending

....Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 62% believe tax cuts are a better way to create jobs and fight unemployment. Only 21% believe that additional stimulus spending is a more effective tool.

While voters believe that tax cuts and stopping spending is the path to job creation, the Political Class disagrees. Sixty-nine percent (69%) of those in the Political Class say that spending the stimulus money would create more jobs than canceling the remaining stimulus spending. Fifty-five percent (55%) of the Political Class believes that new spending will create more jobs than tax cuts. Only 13% believe the tax cutting would do more.

69% of the Political Class believe in the Stimulus. Indicative of the gap of common sense and the essence of what America stand for. The politcal class vs. Americans. A bi-partisan oligarchy thinks that big-government is what America is all about.........
Do people realize just how far from American mainstream Obama, Pelosi, Reid, myriad RINOs are?

UPDATE:

Debate brings out our best voice, our best thoughts right? An exchange between myself and TAO, one of my liberal readers; a smart guy, a business owner :

So, explain to me, how do tax cuts create jobs, when there is no demand? If I produce a product and my sales are down 20% then explain to me how giving me a tax cut is going to make me create a job then demand is low?

If you can prove that tax cuts will generate jobs without an increase in demand then by god I will jump on board that platform...

By the way, I think demand will stay low due to the fact that we all were living
beyond our means and we have all made changes in our spending habits...

So, if we can create jobs for tax cuts then by god lets do it...

To which I reply:

I am not endorsing tax cuts here as the end-all to be-all. We need spending restraint and a lax of the tax and spend mentality. We need a precise opposite of what BO and Congress are doing, raising taxes, regulations and even creating NEW entitlement programs while govt revenue is cratering. It will put our entire nation in the poorhouse faster than you can say 'Boo'!

And that is the essence of why I am against so-called HC reform. Because we can't afford it! It is just another step towards bankrupting our society.

I think that this poll simply shows that the public is not buying the horsesh*t line from the statists running the show - that essentially we are only one stimulus/porkulus/HC reformulus away from prosperity.

  5. @ C-gen - I'll return the favor too!

  6. "The Public" what an interesting term...

The same public that rasmullen polled voted overwhelmingly for Obama and realistically he did not promise anything but higher taxes and bigger government...you got to give him credit in the fact that he did not promise one thing and then deliver another...

Polls don't measure intelligent thought but rather emotions....I wouldn't run my company based upon polls and I really don't believe we want a country run the same way...

    Or do we?

Is it really policy and values that we are discussing or do we blog for power of one side over the other?

I am all for cutting government spending but I will NOT support tax cuts until our debt is paid in full and we have money in the bank....

Then I will vote for tax cuts....

Until such time any politician who campaigns for lower taxes is just blowing smoke up my ass...

Because until Americans realize that the spending the government is going to have to cut is going to include programs that they like or benefit from then government spending will never be cut!

You find me a politician that campaigns on raising taxes 10% and cutting all government spending by 25% across the board, including social security, medicare, and the military...

Then I will quit and work on his/her campaign!

  7. @ TAO - CA is an example of the "public" of which you speak, notorious for voting in programs and spending via the referendum process then voting against the higher taxes that come with them. It is simple TAO. People want goodies from govt but then don't want the wealth confiscation that comes from it. Obviously I'm not going to change your mind here.....but I think that cutting spending AND taxes can get us back on the road to fiscal sanity. The point is to NEVER increase govt spending past the point of inflation once we get to that point. As far as you last assertion here too....I have several candidates for you that are willing to make the tough choices. They a part of the Republican Liberty Caucus list that I have. Could you name even ONE Dem that would sign up for the above, ie making the tough choices to get our fiscal house in order?

  8. @ Tao - we've been through this before and I believe you as a business person agreed. I think it may have even been our first discussion. The decision to cut employment, is usually made via review of you margins. Lower taxes, higher margins, and less layoffs :)

You are welcome to disagree, but when I owned my business, that's how I did it. I'm also no longer in business...maybe that's why.
