Tea Parties and the GOP - Marco Rubio, Real Conservative?

by the Left Coast Rebel
As I was yesterday evening with the Charisse Carney-Nunes story, I am reading Right Klik today. RK is pointing to a Politico story that is noting that the Tea Party movement is starting to make inroads into transforming the GOP. They are doing so as Politico notes by confronting the Republican establishment, by backing insurgent conservatives and generating their own candidates. The Politico also highlights -

In Florida, where the national party has signaled its preference for centrist Gov. Charlie Crist in the GOP Senate primary, tea party activists are lining up behind former state House Speaker Marco Rubio in reaction to Crist’s public backing for President Barack Obama’s stimulus package.

Tea party organizers say their resistance to Republican Party-backed primary candidates has much to do with what they perceive as the GOP’s stubborn insistence on embracing candidates who don’t abide by a small government, anti-tax conservative philosophy.

A fascinating topic for myself folks. I know it first-hand to be true. The Tea Party movement has as much to do with anger and dissatisfaction towards the GOP as it does with rising and rampant socialism under the Obamanation. I saw it with my own eyes at a Tea Party several months ago here in Oceanside CA, note the pic that I took @ right. Love for GOP Governator-Schwarzenegger among these folks? Not hardly.

Thanks to the Rubio mention as well, I inquired about his credentials to RK. Is he a true-conservative? Does he stand for liberty values and what the GOP did at one point? Well, RK gave a resounding 'Yes' and listed several links pointing to this fact -

The Politico story, along with Right Klik's thoughts point to something that the Democrats and the press have no idea about. 9/12ers and Tea Parties are not GOP related. They aren't necessarily affiliated with a party. They are folks that are fed up and tired of, disgusted and deathly concerned with; corruption within both parties that will destroy our country and our prosperity.

  1. The Tea Party Movement reflects the desires and demands of the law-abiding, tax-paying, center-right mainstream American. Their message: Stop mortgaging the future and respect the Constitution...or get out of the way.

  3. If the Republican base of Florida chooses Crist over Rubio it will prove that the Republican Party is finished.

  4. @ RK - I agree 100%

@ Womanhonor - Me too, we wish for the same!

@ Jeremiah Whitmoore - Indeed it may, as with other races too and then we will all support the conservative capitalist candidate that we need to and throw away the party into the dustbin of history.....

  5. I am a FL resident I am supporting Marco Rubio (just look at my blog and you'll see several videos). Gov. Crist is a big RINO and we don't need any more of them in the Senate.

  6. @ TCL - With so much going on, and not being a Floridian, I wasn't aware of how great Rubio is.
