Rush Limbaugh, St. Louis Rams - Al Sharpton NFL-Block

by the Left Coast Rebel

Get a load of this, I'm reading at Weasel Zippers, (great site as I have mentioned), that the always esteemable so called 'Reverend' Al Sharpton of limousine/ambulance-chasing, race-baiting, poverty-pimping magnanimousness is putting all of his greasy-haired attention to pressuring the NFL against America's favorite conservative talk-show host. For what say you? As I alluded to in the title here -

According to a letter Sharpie wrote to the NFL Commissioner, Limbaugh should be barred.

Sharpton argued that Limbaugh has been “anti-NFL” in his comments about
several of the league’s players, specifically naming Philadelphia Eagles uarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick.

In addition, Sharpton wrote that Limbaugh’s “recent statement that the NFL
was beginning to look like a fight between the Crips and the Bloods without the
weapons, was disturbing.”

So obviously Sharpton is drawing on the race-card to discredit Rush and as Weasel says, shake the NFL down. Something, (along with greasy hair and racism), that he is an absolute pro at doing. Does anyone else know about this man's past? The press' proclivity to reach out to this disgusting indivdual is more disgusting than the individual himself. By the way, if Sharpton is a 'reverend' then I'm the Pope.

UPDATE: Checking into the stock market right now, I flipped on CNBC, right before the noon turn PT. The guest was the Chief Editor of Sports Illustrated Magazine, discussing with Mark Haynes the breaking news on the NFL player's union's attempt to block the Rams bid by Limbaugh. The editor said that "Limbaugh had a history of racist comments," blah, blah, blah and that the Union should do this. It all comes down to the ownership of team and their vote on the matter. And of course, it has nothing to do with race, it's all about Union-thug leftism.

Can't I just watch the freaking market-channel without being proselytized by liberal moonbats?

Oh yah, the CNBC segment switched briefly to a picture of Rush looking like Satan, blowing smoke. As Black and Gold from Right Stuff here says in the comment section, would the press be on this like flies on stink of Fiddy-Cent were purchasing an NFL team?

UPDATE: Today, (Tuesday), I am reading WaPo via. Memeorandum that the NFL is casting doubt on Limbaugh's bid. NFL commissioner Goodell went out of his way to point to the fact that it would be unncceptable for someone like Rush to be in an ownership position. Listen to this from Goodell -

"I've said many times before we're all held to a high standard here, and I think
divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about,I would not want to see
those comments coming from people who are in a responsible position in the NFL,
absolutely not."

How about this from Colts owner Jim Irsay -

"I would not be in favor of voting for him,but there have been comments that have been made that have been inappropriate, incendiary and insensitive. It's bigger than football. We have to watch the words that we say.... Sometimes privileges in life do get lost. I would not feel comfortable....
I myself couldn't be in favor of voting for him.... We've got to
watch our words
in this world
and our thoughts because they can do damage."

Get it folks? Censorship and conservaphobia 101. What a flying crock of horse hockey.

  1. Sharpton needs some press and sees this as easy.

  2. As pope, please get rid of the hat! lol

Sharpton and all these players are nothing more than a bunch of conservaphobes. Now if fiddy cent wanted to buy the team, that would be ok, eh?

  3. I guess you've never experienced Sharpton personally. Can you say Tawana Brawley? As far as Vick goes, he's a convicted criminal, and a creep. Where else but in the civil rights movement can you find reverends that are pro-choice. It's a fraud no matter which way you slice it.

  4. This is becoming deeply silly. Football is not about politics.

Limbaugh would be a minority owner, there is no reason to think he is racist, and every reason to think that he somewhat for publicity purpsoes -- but that would could bring some badly-needed business savvy to a troubled franchise and thus benefit the league as a whole. To be sure, he would politicize the team go away after a while.

And Al Sharpton is a fast-talking attention whore who should be given ample quantities of obscurity. This is not his fight and it is not fertile grounds for a fight to arise. Competitiveness for good players and talented coaches in the NFL is such that racism is a luxury no owner can afford.

  5. The Left are just a bunch of racist bigots. No surprise with their comments here.

I think they're voting on the HealthCare scam tonight. I hope everyone is "praying without ceasing" that this bill will not pass. Thanks. :)

  6. @ BB - This is precisely that for him.

@ Blackandgold - Of course it would be ok because he is a degenerate POS entertainer.

@ TL - You of course are correct on all counts here, Sharpton and the Union are operating on strictly political terms.

@ Sparky - Many are, some are not however. It's the loudest in the bunch that ruin it for the others though, as it is with our side too.

  7. It's funny that you are casting Roger Goodell's (the son of a N.Y. Republican Senator), and Jim Irsay's comments on Rush Limbaugh's ownership bid in a "quasi-left/liberal" light, in order to make it appear that Limbaugh's soon-to-be-denied NFL ownership bid has anything to do with politics. Your claim is laughable that the NFL ownership group (largely made up of wealthy, white, conservative business men) rejected Limbaugh's ownership bid based on his political stance. If you were to read the information available without your rose-colored glasses on you would be able to figure out that the real reason that Limbaugh will never be an NFL owner is that he is a morally bankrupt, inflammatory, blow-hard, that is incredibly successful at "preaching to the choir" of sheep he has amassed. I must admit you are right about the "Reverends" Jackson & Sharpton. Although, I hope you realize that Rush fills the same role they do to their respective factions. Rush, just like Sharpton & Jackson, preach to politically ignorant masses that do not bother to actually check the facts. I'm sure you will delete this posting right after you read it, because it disagrees with you, but it would be nice if you could at least respond first. Welcome to the no-spin zone!

  8. @ Brian: You are freaking kidding me? Sharpton and Jackson are extortionists. Rush earns his way. There's gulf between them on that alone.

  9. @ Brian - Rush is like Sharpton and Jackson? Now that is a first, IMO. My site is not the 'no-spin zone', it is my take on the ridiculous headlines of the day. Your claim is prepostorous. Like Right Guy above, I won't even go beyond that.

  10. @ Brian - Which organization are you with?

  11. @ The Right Guy - I agree the "Reverends" are extortionists, based on the way they pass around their "collection plate". Rush, on the other hand, has a lucrative tv and radio contract that pays his salary. Therefore, he will continue his tried-and-true rhetoric, because it pays the bills. Limbaugh, Jackson, and Sharpton are all sensationalist, race-baiters that make their living by stirring up the general public. They may be on different ends of the spectrum, but it is not that difficult to see that they are all birds of a feather.

  12. @Crogan:
Rush isn't a race baiter. He never said those statement, and they were outright lies. If this was england, Jerkson and Co. would be hauled into court and lose their shorts.

What Rush is, is a Gangster. Jerkson and sharpton and gangsters masquerading as crusaders. For a definition, look here:

    http://www.whoradio.com/cc-common/mainheadlines3.html?feed=150515&article=3694328

Outside of that definition, that is all they have in common. I will also add that I am NOT a huge Rush Limbaugh fan, but i think he should be allowed to buy anything that he is legally entitled to buy, as he has earned, unlike the racial extortionists, who have, well, extorted it.

Lastly, the NFL and it's feckless president are full of crap. They've had no problem with steroids, animal torturers, rapists and accused murderers. This is all about disagreeing with someone's point of view.
