Obama Olympics 2016 - Fail

I'm reading a breaking story here at Fox News that the Obamanation camaign for the 2016 Olympics to be held in Chicago has fallen flat on it's face. Officials in Copenhagen voted today to eliminate Chicago as a possibility. From the Fox News story -


Obama's visit to Copenhagen to make a pitch for Chicago's Olympic bid was the
first time a U.S. president mad......The president's whirlwind trip put him in
the Danish capital for less than five hours Friday, with Chicago-backers hoping
that would be sufficient to give Obama's adopted home town the advantage it needed to win the close, four-way race to become the host city of the 2016 Summer Games.

But the compressed time frame did not shield Obama from Republican criticism
that he shouldn't be hopscotching to Europe in Air Force One when there were so
many pressing issues to deal with at home.e such an in-person appeal.


For all the anticipation surrounding Obama's appearance in Copenhagen, his
arrival at the IOC meeting was decidedly subdued....The 100-plus committee
members, who had already been warned not show bias during the presentations, sat silently as the Obamas walked into the Bella Center with the rest of 12-member Chicago delegation.

He referenced his own election as a moment when people from around the world
gathered in Chicago to see the results last November and celebrate that "our diversity could be a source of strength."

  2. Now that the world is showing the retoric he's spewing is the garbage that it is and punk'ding him, I wager to bet that he's crying on his pillow whining why don't anyone one love him. That he's given the world the apology and the demonization of the evil imperial empire of America and yet the world still don't love him like the useful idiots of America. It's good to see that the world isn't so naive to fall for this fool. Now conservatives can use the international test to use against this fraud provided that he doesn't play the race card against the IOC.

  6. Don't be happy some place else got it. Madison, WI was going to be the location of the bicycling portions. I'm glad Obama did what he could to help us.

    We're still happy we have Olympic-quality cycling routes. It would have been better for my area, of course, if we had been the site of the cycling events. I don't agree with Mayor Dave that trying is what counts. I wanted to win.

  7. You mean to say that we're making a big deal over Obama failing to Chicago the 2016 Olympic bid? This . . . is supposed to be a sign that he is a bad president? If G.W. Bush had faced the same failure . . . I STILL WOULDN'T CARE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. I haven't paid attention to the Olympics in years.
