House Democrats, Sheila Jackson Lee, Roger Goodell, Unleashed Troll Moonbats - NFL Block

by the Left Coast Rebel
This morning I approved a barking moonbat comment, saying that the NFL Limbaugh deal had nothing to do with politics and that Rush was, (this is a direct quote), a morally bankrupt, inflammatory, blow-hard, that is no different than Al Sharpton. I must be making strides here at the Left Coast Rebel to encounter such nuttery. So since this has nothing to do with politics, since we got that out of the way, how about this headline then from The Hill?
Nah, the conservaphobic assault on Rush isn't motivated by leftist politics or hate. Nah. Sheila Jackson is leading the charge, from The Hill -

Jackson Lee, citing Limbaugh's controversial remarks about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb in 2003, said the right-leaning radio host is "divisive."

While stressing that she is a firm believer in the First Amendment and
acknowledging the matter is not a government issue, Jackson Lee said in a floor
speech, "I know he is not the kind of owner the NFL needs." She called on the
NFL to "do the right thing" and "have some integrity" by rebuffing
Limbaugh.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday suggested that a Limbaugh bid would not be approved by the league, saying, "we're all held to a high standard here, and I think divisive comments are not what the NFL is all
about."

Once again, nah this isn't about hate-centric conservaphobia and lynching, this is about the game.

UPDATE: Mark Steyn has a brilliant post up over at the National Review. Here are a few excerpts from it -

For some reason, Rush Limbaugh's mooted purchase of a sportsfranchise has prompted CNN and others to distribute far and wide what appear to be entirely fabricated racist quotes by Rush. As Tim Blair
points out:

Bizarrely, nobody running these career-killing “quotes” seems to question why they weren’t of previous interest.

Just so. What's the theory here? He said these things on the air in 2006 and nobody noticed? 2001? Maybe 1995, back when Clinton was blaming him for Oklahoma City? Hey, let's not get hung up on details. Just because nobody can find any evidence anywhere of Rush saying these "quotes" doesn't mean he didn't
say 'em. As someone called Jason Whitlock
says:

Limbaugh doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt on racial matters.

UPDATE DEUX: Confederate Yankee has a spot-on post on the Limbaugh/race issue. He points to the fact that the allegations against Rush are patently absurd because he has been on the air for over 20 years. Read it here.

  3. I had the DNC visit my blog about the witch hunt against Rush yesterday. They clearly feel they can destroy his character with this silly story.

  7. This explains why the NFL has become a medicore snoozathon. Only libeals are allowed to own the teams and run the league. Remember, the socialist's dream is for every game to end in a tie so feelings don't get hurt and everyone gets the Lambordi trophy. Now that we have 8 teams, that's 1/4 of the league for liberals that can't do math which is most of them, that have no more than 1 win. One team is about to play their 5th game IN A ROW against a winless opponent (and I'm not counting the first game where the record was 0-0). Never has a team played 5 winless teams in a SEASON before, much less in a row. I used to watch any game because of the entertainment value. Now I can hardly watch at all because the teams either are so bad that they couldn't beat a bad high school or so high that nobody can touch them that it makes it so lopsided or dull that they're painful to watch now.
