The Parade passing him by, Gingrich in The Hill late last night -This idea that we're suddenly going to establish litmus tests and all across the country we're going to purge the party of anybody who doesn't agree with us 100 percent; that guarantees Obama's reelection, that guarantees Pelosi as Speaker-for-life.
This just baffles me. Purging the party? Litmus test? Guaranteeing Obamanation reelection?
Actually, I am not baffled, the party does need to be purged and these things will guarantee a conservative electoral resurgence. Here's why this is no surprise -

There's a sense I get from watching Beck that he thinks there's a supermajority out there willing to return to Founders-style libertarianism if only he and other conservatives hammer the message hard and long enough. I don't think there is.Interesting. It's no wonder sites like mine have huge potential on upside-growth. I come to things as a small-blogger with a decent voice; not needing to cater, pander, moderate. What is the endgame? Is this not obvious, reader? The endgame is electing conservatives. The endgame is supporting true Obamanation detractors. The endgame is not giving a rat's tooshie about an 'R' by a candidate's name when the 'R' is more 'L' than even the 'D'. Is this so hard to understand? It is within the confines of the prism of integrity. Do Dems do this to their own? Of course not, they have their Marxian Purist Potus after all!

I have little doubt but that my plea not to make the NY23 race a litmus test for who get’s to play in the Republican party sandbox will fall on deaf ears, but it must be made regardless.Falling on deaf ears, you guys simply just don't get it.

I don't like Gingrich much, but I have to concede that he has a point: the more polarized the Republican party gets, the more power they will cede to less polarizing people in the Socialist (incorrectly self-called Democratic) party. As much as I would personally like to see a resurgence of libertarianism, and think there may be a lot of Americans who feel the same way, I would much rather have a middle-ground independent than Pelosi or Obama. I do think it's a political mistake for the Republican party to go "all in" in hardcore right-wing candidates; it makes the choice for middle ground independents the "lesser of two evils", which makes elections coin-flips, electoral mandates non-existent, and constant radical reforms the status quo.
In an ideal world, we'd have runoff/weighting elections, to allow moderate candidates to shine (as opposed to the hand-holding, favor-swapping, backroom-dealing partisan enemies system we currently have). In a less ideal but probably still fanciful world, we'd have a 2/3 majority requirement for Congress to pass any law, which would cripple partisan polarized governments and hopefully force reform. In a hopeful but unlikely world, electoral defeats force both parties to put forward more moderate candidates, and we get some slow compromise via extremely ponderous and inconsistent changes over the course of years. In the real world, we have socialist radials running the United States, and an immediate need to stop the hemorrhaging of prosperity and freedom before it's too late.
I just don't understand Gingrich. You don't support a candidate more liberal than the Democrat candidate just because she has an elephant behind her name. The party must stand for something. It doesn't get any simpler than that, and the candidate he is supporting doesn't sound like the old Newt I used to know.
I have heard one too many interviews with Gingrich from Sean Hannity, which is one reason I no longer tune to Mr. "let freedom ring" Hannity's show.

@ NIck - Respect your opinion here, just disagree. I think that the Hoffman case is much more complicated than that. The fact that Dede Sco. is actually more of a statist than her Dem rival tells us all we need to know.

Well I have to say that if Independents who have conservative beliefs win, then hopefully all parties will see what is going on. We want to save America, not have it attacked from within. Go Hoffman!!!!
I think that most Americans want elected officials who are willing to protect our country and keep it a free country. If others come here and want to change it to be like their old country, then they should just go back there. Our ancestors wanted a better life for their children and grandchildren. They knew that this was the country that gave them the chance to do this. I think most of them would hate the changes that have occurred due to so many Progressives being elected.
I think the Progressives should just catch the same jet as Sean Penn to the large island south of Florida, and then they can all just stay there, and let us watch to see how far they progress with their agenda. I mean Vegas could get rich with us all betting on which progressive succeeds and which of their great progressive plans are successful in changing their new leaders beliefs. Oh wait, he has the same beliefs as they do. Sorry, my mistake. Vegas can just take bets on who does not go to jail, and if they do, then we can bet on how long their stay will be. But they would all probably just be hired by the evil island leader and do very well.
I think I will just pray that somewhere in this country we find enough people who will be elected that want to save our country and not ruin it.

Although today it did cool down to the low 60's in So. CA, it is going to heat up this weekend. It is November and I am still growing tomatoes, that is why CA rocks. Although I am kinda tomatoed out. Anyone need some tomatoes, come to my back yard, they are free. Although the government might want their share in taxes. Sigh.
