Sure there would be more uproar if it were Hannity/Palin: self-righteous, smug, they tell the public who fits where on the moral hierarchy- it is fun to see them hoist by their own petard.....
I've watched Letterman throughout his career, and I applaud him for his candor. Who cares when he did any of this? Who even cares that he did it at all? It's always been clear to me that he was a ladies' man, and if his wife can deal with it, so can all of you judgmental freaks out there. I only hope that Letterman calls Bill Clinton and apologizes for every mean-spirited joke made on the show at Clinton's expense over the last decade. It's called vindication. Thanks for the story, Dave.

Can you imagine the uproar if this was Sean Hannity instead. This left wing loon will get a free pass from the media . I hope sponsors pull out from his show. If this man used his power and used the threats of getting fired on the interns I hope they take him to the cleaners
I absolutely hate that Palin woman but for him to call her out on her looks and the behavior of her daughter now takes on a different tone
It's none of our business who is having sex with whom and anyone who thinks otherwise is brainwashed by the fundamental christian beliefs that are archaic, outdated and flat out wrong. These are the same belief systems that argue against birth control and contraception because of some imaginary man in the clouds was discribed in a book written 1800 years ago. Will we ever learn???
I'll stop there. Honestly folks if this is a metric for what our country has turned into on a moral basis............

The comment that leaps out at me is the one saturated in anti-Christian bigotry. In fact, it's one of the most acceptable forms of it. If you mock the beliefs of Judaism, you're anti-Semitic. If you mock the beliefs of Islam, you're a racist. If you mock the beliefs of Christianity, you're progressive.
ReplyDeleteAll that said, I don't really understand why Christianity would even enter the discussion, even if it's the comments on youtube. Letterman was the one who described himself as a "towering mass of Lutheran guilt." (I can relate with him on that one) Maybe it was just an excuse for someone to flaunt their inflated sense of moral superiority. Either way, the whole thing is sick. I do feel for his wife and son, though.
