ACORN Philadelphia

by the Left Coast Rebel

What really happened at the Philadelphia ACORN office, despite what many press outlets and ACORN representatives have said -

Fox News on this new release and the underlying story today -

The new eight-minute video depicts O'Keefe and Giles entering ACORN's Philadelphia office and meeting with Conway-Russell. O'Keefe and Giles are seen
speaking with Conway-Russell, but audio portions of the video are missing or
edited in some portions. O'Keefe is heard mentioning he doesn't "want to get in
trouble with authorities," and he mentions individuals will be frequently coming
in and out of the building they hoped to secure, an apparent reference to the
purported prostitution business to operate there. Clips of news reports
featuring Conway-Russell and ACORN's chief executive, Bertha Lewis, claiming the
pair were kicked out of the office were then shown

Puzzling that audio blips are missing initially. Townhall.com has this -

Those of you closely following the ACORN investigation may remember that ACORN
denied initial reports of widespread corruption as some of their offices purportedly refused to help the "pimp and prostitute" in obtaining housing assistance, specifically citing the Philadelphia office. However, the videotape shows a different story Note: I'm told that because of pending legal action over the ACORN investigation, the filmmakers had to edit this video to block out the ACORN worker's voice. But it's clear from her body language and the general exchange that her
"testimony" was blatantly false.

Confederate Yankee has a great writeup as well, stating additionally that an unedited version of the Philly video will soon be released.

  1. As Fox News continues to be marginalized by the White House and the Popular Rule in the interest of promoting state-run media as well other more favorable outlets, a great disservice is being done to the institution that is the Press. Our Founding Fathers respected this institution enough to include the RIGHT that protects it in the same Amendment as religion. They fully understood the importance of a free press and its ability to prevent tyranny from ever coming to our shores.

I am not saying that the work of Giles and O’Keefe should be thought of as transcendent or even patriotic, but I am absolutely stating that they should be commended for their efforts in every way imaginable. If their work inspired one person to engage in similar behavior to expose corruption, fraud, or mismanagement of government resources – at either end of the political or ideological spectrum – then they have done this country and the institution of the press a great service and we owe them our thanks.

  3. The truth is that unless the weakstream media re-establishes its role as a government watchdog, they will atrophy and die.

  4. What boggles my mind is why ACORN and co. even attempted to suggest what they did. They HAD TO KNOW what they were saying was a lie and that the truth would not only come out, but that it had most likely been recorded. I know they believed their goons cum lawyers could shut down some of the exposition, at least for some time.

I am lead to the conclusion that revelation was immaterial so long as their tactics bought enough time (to do some of their continuing "works"). I suspect that everything being done, today, politically, by those in power, is time sensitive. It would be akin to someone having the hope that the needle with tainted blood could be kept in the target victim long enough to inject enough of the tainted blood to ensure infection. The assassin knows he will be caught, prosecuted, maybe killed on the spot, however, if the infection is instigated, nothing else matters.

That is what we are up against. I call it reactionary zealotry. They do not mind losing, dying, being exposed, impoverished, shamed, or any other harm in a personal or political small way so long as they can do their work in the big picture. And the zealots are everywhere in this congress and White House.

You really have been nailing a lot of this. I merely munch and reformat, along with my other sources and own beliefs. I wish I had your stomach to deal with the poison so that I could do more blogging about it, but I simply do not. Thanks for doing more than your part.
