ACORN Internal Investigation - Suspends, Plans Audit, 'Indefensible' Actions of Employees

by the Left Coast Rebel

Via. Memeorandum.

This story is breaking as I write this, I am reading here at the Washington Times that ACORN has issued a release stating that the organization has suspended advising new clients and is setting up an independent audit and review in light of the recent expose videos.

The release states that an independent auditor and investigator will be named within 48 hours.

Atlas Shrugging/ACORN cracking. Or a simple shell game?

Well according to the release as well, ACORN earlier this year set up an independent Advisory Council. A lot of good that did. Here is the list of folks on that Council -

  • John Podesta, President and CEO, Center for American Progress
  • Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Board Member, RFK Foundation, former MD Lt. Governor
  • Andrew Stern, International President, Service Employees International Union
  • Henry Cisneros, Executive Chairman, Cityview
  • John Banks, Vice President of Government Relations Con Ed
  • Eric Eve, Senior VP of Global Consumer Group, Community Relations, Citigroup
  • Harvey Hirschfeld, President, Lawcash
  • Dave Beckwith, Executive Director, Needmor Fund
I vote for shell game although this is huge news and a feather in the cap of conservative activists and overall government transparency. The next step is to follow this investigation and audit and hold their feet to the fire on this as well......

Update: I'm reading in the Wall Street Journal here via. Memeorandum that Cuomo, NY AG has launched an investigation into pork-barrel spending grants given to ACORN by state reps. NY city council also froze all city funding for ACORN. Wow.
The Journal points readers to the fact that the Obamanation may be compromised re: ACORN as well -

The president, who as a candidate touted his background as a "community
organizer," has extensive ties to Acorn. In February 2008, the Acorn Political Action Committee endorsed Obama over Hillary Clinton, and Obama's campaign Web site,
Organizing for America, boasted of the candidate's support for the group.

  1. Pure shell game, don't buy it for a second.

When the ACORN-8 asked for an internal audit , they locked those people out of their offices. This organization has no interest in discovering the truth - they are the truth and they know if it is discovered the gig is up.

If you've never been there, check out which includes a link to the DOJ complaint created 1/2009. Fascinating stuff...

  2. ACORN doing an internal investigation is akin to Bawney Fwank investigating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

    Nothing to see here, folks...

Btw...congrats on your new status as a fellow racist mobster! I'm in great company! :-)

For those of you who may not understand the above statement, Post titled "I'm a Racist!"

  3. @ Soloman - I agree, I had a little contact with Nancy Armstron, RIP, she was involved with the ACORN 8.

@ Blackandgold - Hello fellow racist mobster! Nice thought on Barney Fwank....

  4. Yeah, it's a shell game BUT we've got them scurrying into corners like roaches. Keep reporting the news! :)

  5. ACORN investigating themselves? Why do anyone let an oranization investigate themselves? That's like Marion Berry investigating corruption in DC which he found nothing yet the garbage trucks didn't work, drug sales went through the roof, and gangs shot up the white house (during Clinton's reign, 30 bullet holes to be exact) and the investigation found no criminal increase or corruption. Never mind the man was caught red handed smocking crack (which explains a lot that happens in DC). No, letting wolves investigate the break in and disappearance of chickens from the chicken coop isn't going to prove anything.

  6. ANDY STERN hahahahaha That's putting the hen house under the guardianship of the fox. Shell game it is. Read Michelle's Culture of Corruption on Andy's SEIU protege

  7. You racist bastard...

The internal investigation is illegal based on the 1953 Fox v. Henhouse Supreme Court ruling.
