Leftism, the Iron Curtain Exhibits - Iron....?

A beautiful Saturday morning. I am up early, my neighborhood is still in slumber; even the kitty sees fit to take advantage of the gloomy weather, the cool air, the excuse for a moment of fitful rest. All is peace, and quiet. I've spent the a.m. watching the Business Block on Fox News, scanning the internet news sources that I follow. Plenty of fodder to ponder, food for thought, topics for citizen journalism. Doing the leg work that the press simply won't.

So I've hit up a few sources updating on the current courses and push for rearrangement of our liberties. First I see a headline at Investor's Business Daily.

Interesting and a good sign, I think.

Boy, folks, if that doesn't tell you everything about the so-called leadership that we have right now, nothing will. Article here. Mind you this is not a 'political' article, this is front-page material. This is the truth. This is the Iron Curtain of the Progressive Regime, the Statist flying in the face of economics 101. Even liberal economists dissent.

So my mind goes back to the term Iron Curtain. Societies in the past that have jettisoned notions of personal liberty, individual dignity, economic and expressive freedoms. Government that ruled by edict in secret to enslave either by pen or by the point of a gun. Peoples that became prisoners of their own land, trapped behind a curtain of iron, steel, barbed-wire, spotlights and machine guns, attack-dogs and military might.

Iron curtains sold to unsuspecting public masses with a grin and a wink by despots with ultimate power as an endgoal. Ultimate power for a State and the crushing of the individual under a massive thumb of coercion.

Thumbs, hmm.

I think of an analogy of thumbs, the ability to squash a fly or an individual; the collective might of a government even in our USA to do such. Such analogy needs a picture to put to justice. How about the one @ right?

Hmmm, Fruit Thumb? Chocolate Auntie? Wisp? How strange and odd, I never thought that there would so many varieties. Kind of disgusting, actually. How about the half-carat? Wow.



Then I find it, the thumb for the struggle against a coercive state. The Iron Thumb that means to smash individualism, the pursuit of happiness, our protected liberties.

Mind you dear reader, I am not suggesting that we are living under a totalitarian regime, with prison-camps in the waiting for dissent. We are not being 'rounded up' for speaking out or fighting back. We are simply facing a concerted effort to water-down our freedoms, do dissolve our system.

What we are witnessing is a tyranny-lite. Bush's 'we gotta pass this bailout yesterday' has turned into the Obamanation's stimulus, cap and tax, health care and others. Giant, historical and societal-changing bills read in the night, misfits in charge of formerly private companies.

• Pg 22 of the HC Bill MANDATES the Govt will audit books of ALL EMPLOYERS that self insure.



• Pg 30 Sec 123 of HC bill - THERE WILL BE A GOVT COMMITTEE that decides what treatments/benefits you get.



• Pg 29 lines 4-16 in the HC bill - YOUR HEALTHCARE IS RATIONED.
  
  Pg 42 of HC Bill - The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC Benefits for you. You have no choice.



• PG 50 Section 152 in HC bill - HC will be provided to ALL non US citizens, illegal or otherwise.



• Pg 58HC Bill - Govt will have real-time access 2 individs finances & a National ID Healthcard will be issued.



• Pg 59 HC Bill lines 21-24 Govt will have direct access to you banks accountsts for electronic funds transfer.



• PG 65 Sec 164 is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in unions & community orgs (ACORN).



• Pg 72 Lines 8-14 Govt is creating an HC Exchange to bring private HC plans under Govt control.

Exhibit b). 3rd in line to the presidency, brilliant direct quote on insurance companies in a free market.

• "It's almost immoral what they are doing, of course they've been immoral all along in how they have treated the people that they insure. They are the villains. They have been part of the problem in a major way. They are doing everything in their power to stop a public option from happening."

Wow.

Exhibit c). Science Czar Holdren, circa 1973, his respect for human life here , in the case of the Obamanation, a man is judged by the company he keeps -

Orwellian, need I say more?

Exhibit d). Green Jobs Czar Van Jones via Newsbusters -

The broadcast network newscasts have mostly failed to report on Mr. Jones’s past political affiliations which are lock-step with the network’s downplay of coverage regarding President Obama’s associations with the former radical and terrorist William Ayers during the election."

An out and out communist, black-racist czar handpicked by a man with associations of similar people, here, here, here from decades past. Need I say more?
