What kind of times are we living in? Where do these folks in the press come from? How could anyone possibly think that communism, ie. security over liberty is a viable option? How could anyone in the press with even a modicum of access to information think that the Cuban model of health care, freedom, or otherwise is something worthy of praise? Imagine that they source Michael Moore as well....
From the video, truth is stranger than fiction -
"What are they doing right? (In Sicko), Cuban supporters gleefully pointed out that the poor communist island gave it's people universal health care, something the United States doesn't do.....how does health care in Cuba work? There are some impressive statistics. Cuba's life expectancy is the highest in Latin America! (Really? I am skeptical as this is a stat from the W.H.O. but if it is true, so what? Cubans are slaves of an oppressive regime, would you like to live as a slave to a ripe old age?)
(The 'report' then goes to a new 'clinic') - "Built just 5 years ago, this clinic is a symbol of what Cuba wants to do with health care....the machinery is new...all of it free of charge! How does Cuba do it? First of all the government dictates salaries, (wow, Pelosi, Obama, GM? Banks?), doctors earn less than $30 per month, (talk about attracting the best and brightest), priority is given to avoiding expensive procedures.....(cat out of the bag, whoops)
Ok, I'm going to stop there. The cat is out of the bag. Priority is given to avoiding expensive procedures. Aside from the laughable manner in which CNN panders to communism, this little line, this admission is the whole enchilada of the debate over Obamacare. Remember that, priority is given to avoiding expensive procedures.
So on this note, priority over what? A human life? Human dignity? Bureaucratic bean-counting over individual initiative?
Exactly, all of the above in a nutshell, thank you CNN for topping every bit of communist-media-peddling nonsense I have ever seen in my political life - all in one little segment.
And speaking of Cuba, communism, oppression, the US media, collectivism sold with a silver tongue, I found this story, it actually led me to the CNN story.
Investor's Business Daily August 12 here - How End-Users Suffer Under Socialism
Central planners announced this week that they were fresh out of money to buy toilet paper — yes, toilet paper — for the island's 9 million citizens. But not to worry. A nameless official for state-run monopoly Cimex and quoted by Reuters assured that "the corporation has taken all the steps so that at the end of the year there will be an important importation of toilet paper."
There's no gas, either. The Associated Press this week reported that state planners have decreed that oxen — yes, oxen — would replace tractors in the fields, a bid to conserve fuel. This, despite the fact that Cuba gets 100,000 barrels of oil a day from Hugo Chavez's Venezuela — effectively free, because Cuba never pays its bills.
But again, not to worry: Cuban socialists say the ox represents progress because it's so eco-friendly.......

No toilet paper for the people, oxen to save the environment. Now that is the model that America should aspire to. How fitting, an analogy of our Constitution being shredded daily, toilet paper for the Capitol and White House. Paganistic worship of the environment for the God-less, hatred of man's mind and his ability to freely choose by his own volition.
CNN? Obamanation?

Hello????
For Ted Turner's inspirational Castro-lust click here.
Go here for information on our press and the validation that we give Castro and his thugs.
Here for information that debunks the W.H.O. stats on Cuba's low infant mortality rate - hint, it's because there are nearly as many abortions as live births.
Lastly go here for a site that debunks every myth about Cuba's communist system. Warning, some very disturbing and graphic images.

I crack up every time I see the cheese grater t.p.! THAT needs to be at 1600!
ReplyDeleteI've heard, too, that Cuba suffers from a shortage of fish...ON AN ISLAND!!! Ah, the wonderful socialist utopia!
Just when I think our press can go as far as possible in a still free society, they take another giant leap to the left. Too bad they don't take the leap that will land them smack in the middle of the Pacific.
ReplyDelete@ blackandgold - I heard the same, did you look up the links at the bottom of this post?
ReplyDelete@ Spinster - I agree, it is insane.
They are still driving 1959 Impala's in Cuba, how advanced could things be? I read an article the other day that said that many of the doctor's that train in cuba are lent out to other central and south american countries where they then get visas to come here. One of the guys who is a nurse here now said they use textbooks from the early 60's. A lot has changed in medicine since then.
ReplyDelete@ Rightguy - Maddening, simply maddening, to me the most frightening and shocking fact is not that which you are stating here, it is that our pathetic state-sponsored press ingnores it. Cuban health care is great, it is free!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou get what you pay for.
ReplyDelete@ Rightguy - Precisely, I am not willing to part with my liberty, privacy, choice for something that is free, ie. taken by another by the force of a barrel of a gun. Call me crazy.....
ReplyDeleteYou are not crazy. It may not be from a barrel of a gun, but there will be force involved. We've given our sovereignty over to these mountebanks. Time to get it back.
ReplyDeleteThey need to get hand held bathroom bidet sprayers and then they won't ever have to worry about running out of toilet paper again. With these you can use a towel to just dry off (yes your own personal towel for those with no imagination) and it's much more sanitary. I think Dr. Oz on Oprah said it best: "if you had pee or poop on your hand, you wouldn't wipe it off with paper, would you? You'd wash it off" It makes cleaning the toilet itself a breeze also. For those of us who really like to be clean it is the best invention since the toilet. It is so much better than a stand alone bidet and this is why: 1. It's less expensive (potentially allot less) 2. You can install in yourself = no plumber expense 3. It works better by providing more control of where the water spray goes and a greater volume of water flow. 4. It requires no electricity and there are few things that can go wrong with it. 5. It doesn't take up any more space, many bathrooms don't have room for a stand alone bidet. 6. You don’t have to get up and move from the toilet to the bidet which can be rather awkward at times to say the least. Available at http://www.bathroomsprayers.com
