Not so Shocking and Awe - Rushed Cap and Tax Bill

I hope I'm not a day late or a buck short. It is truly unbelievable to me that they are doing this. That it has come to this in America, that they really think they can hoodwink a good amount of the American public and rush through a destructive, horrible 'global-warming' bill that will have lasting economic effects on future generations. Not to mention today's cost - 8 trillion over the next 8 years here. Does Henry Nostril Waxman - pictured right, (yes the face of true evil in Marxist pig-man form), really have the cajones to do this to us? To push through such socialist nonsense without even a proper debate in the country? After all, if the global warming debate is 'settled' then let's duke it out on this thing. Let's bring in our experts and scientists, guys like Lord Christopher Monckton of the UK here and my own San Diego gem, the founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman here.

But it's not settled and it's certainly not about science. Like everything else with the enviro agenda it's about control, as a local am guy here in San Diego said - it's the Far-Left's wet-dream to get this done without a whimper of opposition. Here is the timeline of the bill from the Sunlight Foundation at The Other McCain -

  • Introduced - 5/15/09
  • Reported with amendments out of Energy & Commerce - 6/5/09
  • Discharged by Education & Labor and Foreign Affairs Committees - 6/5/09
  • Discharged by Financial Services, Science & Technology, Transportation, Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Ways & Means Committees - 6/19/09
  • Placed on the Union Calendar, Calendar No. 90 - 6/19/09 (This version is 946 pages)
  • Submitted to House Rules Committee - 6/22/09, 4:22pm (This version is 1,201 pages)

What does the above tell you folks? There apparently has been backdoor negotiations on this thing with no public input. In other words they are going to push this thing through and we won't know what is in it until it is too late. Tomorrow the House is voting on the Cap and Tax global warming bill known as the Waxman-Markey Climate bill or HR 2454. If you can muster up the strength after a long day's work today please contact your congress rep and tell them to vote nay on this thing. This is just common sense folks. Please contact them tonight or perhaps tomorrow. Click here for the House.gov directory and contact your guy or gal. I have, Bilbray is voting against.....

Warren Buffet, a committed Democrat, on Cap and Trade........

    6. Landshark - if they fear enough of us, they'll stop this madness, it's either that or black and gold's option

    9. My Rep will fight it tooth and nail but my senator is a big old lib. I sent her an e-mail earlier today telling her that if she voted for it, I would work tirelessly to defeat her in her next run for her seat.

    10. Tommi - good for you, I am in the same boat, my Senator is Barbara Boxer :( , one of the worst at best.

    11. My rep won't vote for it. I don't think it will pass. Maybe it is just a hope. I also heard today that in order to get it onto the floor for a vote they had to promise special interests 85% of the revenue. Why do we keep electing these people? We have no one to blame but ourselves.

    16. LCR - I have it on my blog and have talked about on facebook. I have a list of blue dog dem in the senate. We may need that. If it does pass, I will post the list on your blog so you can get the word out on them. I have put it on my 912 site and Smart Girls. So the list is getting around.

    17. Justacongirl - keep me posted, nice work!

    18. Let's hope the blue dogs care about the constiuents and not about the power come tomorrow.

    19. Gosh, I hope they don't sneak this one through. It will WAY worsen the economic problems we face.

    20. I called and e-mailed my congressman, Peter DeFazio to not vote on this tax and kill bill. A liberal Democrat, DeFazio had this to say about "cap and trade: "In my opinion, a cap-and-trade system is prone to market manipulation and speculation without any guarantee of meaningful GHG emission reductions. A cap-and-trade has been operating in Europe for three years and is largely a failure. Nearly $60 billion worth of carbon allowances are traded every year, yet emissions on the continent continue to rise."

Yeah, market manipulation by the likes of Al Gore and his phony carbon offset company. Before Gore embarked upon his new venture in the so-called carbon offset business, his net worth as around two million dollars or less. Thanks to his "compassion" for Mother Gaia, he is now worth over one hundred million dollars.

I hope DeFazio doesn't get cold feet and vote for this disaster of a bill. Earlier, in true Chicago thuggery fashion, Obama said to DeFazio when he dissented on the stimulus package, "we are watching you, bro!"

    21. Here use these stats

Cap & Trade bill effect on your family:
Median electric bill $99.70 before bill - $180 after bill
Median water bill $68 before bill - $105.40 after bill
Median gas bill $167 before bill - $272 after bill

      ReplyDelete
    22. William - so we can hope that DeFazion doesn't vote on it but as we know, just because he said those negative things about it doesn't mean he won't turn tail suddenly and...well you know. I'm glad you emailed and called his office, nice work. I am aware of Gore's recent skimming of capitalism - of the crony variety, what a shame that we have 'leaders' like this, to imagine that he was nearly the president, (only to be bettered,by the Obamanation). Hold DeFazio's feet to the fire!

    23. Opus - I hope so too, we are turning into a banana republic here!

Justconsgirl - I'll put those in the post tomorrow, thanks!

    24. Please call your representative today and urge them to vote NO on the "Cap and Trade" Proposal. You can reach them by dialing the Capital Hill switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and asking for your representative.

    25. This has nothing to do with the cap and trade bill as posted, but since healthcare has been a major discussion here at LCR, you may (SHOULD) want to check out what this caller says on the Mark Levin show, after attending a la Raza meeting.

For those that experience high blood pressure after listening to Levin, you don't have to hear his whole show. Go to http://marklevinshow.com/sectional.asp?id=32930 click on the June 25th show, and once it is loaded, move the slider bar to 70:10 into the discussion. This is some frightening stuff, folks. We can not let socialized healthcare come to America! Listen to what this woman says; she is lucid and sounds like a real patriot, to infiltrate this La Raza meeting.

    28. Yiikes. Henry Waxman sure got the short end of the stick when it came to genetics didn't he? I feel sorry for the woman who has to witness that 'o' face. Bleeach.

    29. Waxman's nose looks like the tunnels along the Pennsylvania turnpike. I've seen better heads on boils.

    30. I have 2 phones on "auto-dial" and can't get through to congress. One is a cell phone with a number out of another area code. I could call my rep...Wexler but he's in Maryland at his house and doesn't give his home number. It's so wonderful to have a stinkin' rep that lives out of state and local news ignoring him.

    31. I'm afraid Congress will try to sneak alot of bad things while the media watch the freak show surrounding the death of the freak show. (MIchael Jackson)

      ReplyDelete
    32. Capitalist - I am urging the same here!

William - I will listen to that, remind me later, today these bastards are running with the carbon tax, with nearly no debate, tomorrow I will definitely be back on the socialized health care thing, my #1 priortity.

Stogie - thank, you have a great site too, I have you blogrolled at the right, also, that pic is from a spot north of Morro Bay, you were close!Monterey is a gorgeous place, I am North Coastal San Diego, by camp pendleton if you know where that is...

Blackandgold - Murtha? One of the worst, I am sorry. Thanks for the effort in contact! Like I said, who says the face of evil isn't ugly (waxman)

      Andrew - keep trying!

      ReplyDelete
    33. You think Murtha is bad, what about Wexler? He is an open communist.

Phones are still "auto-dialing". 4 hours now and still have not gotten through. Pelosi hasn't held a vote yet. hmmm....makes me wonder if they have the votes. Pelosi is not known for holding long debates.
